Be Like Bill Helps Equip Police Force With AEDs

Be like Bill was contacted by Officer Matt Wright of the Homecroft, Indiana police department asking if we could help him get AEDs for their officers. At that point, they had no AEDs in any of their cars - and the police are so often the first responders in an emergency and without an AED, they’re helpless to save someone experiencing SCA.

We were able to get them 3 AEDs and will continue working with them to equip all 8 of their cars with one. Jeff’s personal story not only shows how a bystander can save a life by immediately calling 911 and starting CPR, but the importance of a first responder (police) having an AED to finish the chain of survival. It took the EMT an additional 4 minutes to arrive on the scene for Jeff, and that would have been too late to save his life.
